A blogging we will go…

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I lived in San Francisco during the dot.com boom of the mid ’90s. In those days, “blog” was a dirty word to the internet geeks I knew. Not sure why. But one of them actually said to me, “whatever you do, don’t start a blog,” in the way someone might say don’t have unprotected sex with a stranger in a truck stop. I have heeded that advice for no good reason (the blogging part, not the truck stop part–no wait, both) until today. Luckily, Twitter and its harsh 140 character discipline has broken me. I am no longer capable of writing long-winded blah blah blah prose. But feel free to write long-winded blah blah blah comments. I have approval control! muahahaha.

Plus I believe there are now cures (and possibly even vaccines) for you brave blogging souls. So blog away!

Also, your new site is nice. Uncluttered and clean, and the photos display nicely as well, good show.

Perhaps it is not the disease communicated by bloggers that worried your geek friends, but the rampant offspring that blogs create as others think, “Everybody’s doing it!” and decide to procreate because “blog-babies are cute.”

LIttle do nascent bloggers know the responsibility that comes with creating a blog-child. Don’t let us down Bonnie! Make your child great! Keep it off of blog-welfare, at least. Share a lot, after all “It takes a Village.”

    Bonnie!

I haven’t been able to check out your whole new site since I only use the Internet on my phone these days – but this is already my favorite part. Way overdue.

Bonnie – unbelievable, great photos – I am so jealous – how do you get everything so crisp and clear and full of color…..and your subjects are totally book-worthy or whatever the best compliment should be…..see you up here, soon

Hi Bonnie, Very cool pictures and I am impressed with the blog. Where is the map picture anyway? I’m sure it would be a big hit… You know, Bonnie then and Bonnie now… See you at your show!

  6. Bonnie says:

Took me a while to figure out what map picture was. Riiiight, you and Marjorie wearing wall maps as dresses with evening gloves. Gonna have to dig that out! Glad you’re coming!

  7. Terri - cousin says:

Very proud of my cousin…your photos just pull me in…makes me want to know the stories of all the people you featured….you are quite the artist…(corny, but true…smile…)

Hee hee! I have a cousin! Lots of them, apparently! Pinch me!
